Surprise.....Astonished !!! China singers sing Sing Sing So fluently as origin. Please click You tube above to see and hear amazing voices. I am as Batak origin astonished to hear their vocal similar with mine. They wear similar dresses too, choreographed over a boat where Batak tribe sing the song while boating in beautiful Lake Toba, North Sumatra.

I think the singers knew what the song really mean. Might be they asked Indonesian consulate n Guangzou before perform. If they understand the meaning, the sing it with soul. If not, they did awesome performance. They mixed Batak language and Mandarin. Unfortunately I can't understand the Mandarin.

LAKE TOBA FESTIVAL 2016

Lake Toba festival done yearly basis. This year 2016 will start from 9 - 12 September . We expect new arrangement this time organized by a new body set up by the new Government especially by a new Tourism minister. The recently the new body, Toba lake authority managed all tourist activities in this lake. Province authority and local  Governments no longer deal with Toba lake tourism.

All local Government around Toba lake, Simalungun, Tobasa, Samosir, North Tapanuli and other local Government will perform their own cultural performances differ one to another. Boat (Solu bolon) competition will perform as well. Music, singing, Tortor dancing competition, one of the best in the country will entertain our ears. There are Ulos, Batak traditional scraft, geopark festival and traditional performance and many more.

To reach this destination, no longer take 4 - 5 hours from Kuala Namu airport but just one hour from new airport, Silangit in Siborongborong town. Tourist from beyond Jakarta should fly to Jakarta first then take another flight to Silangit. Tourist from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, should stop over in Kuala Namu, Medan airport before forward to Silangit.

A lot of star Hotel in Parapat town nor in Samosir island, in the middle of the lake with reasonable rate. You may take public ships in Parapat town with regular schedule or charter boat to the island.

I wouldn't comment anymore about the beauty of the lake, had been well known to the World including the music and the songs.

PADANG FOOD AROMA, TEMPTED TO TASTE

   

                                       

                

   

Our taste accustomed to our mother food recipes, whenever we go we prefer the food recipes or aroma of foods available. But any certain foods that fit Internationally or Nationally. Mac Donald burger and French fries are foods fit Internationally, available until in the corner of the World. In Indonesia we may found Mc Donald in big cities.

National Indonesian foods you may find across the country and abroad as well. Especially in South California you may find some in Los Angeles and surrounding. Some waiters are Mexican who knew the foods name well. The kinds of Padang foods as video above.

The foods taste, Sumatra recipes are liked by all citizen in the country. Two foods that I used to my taste since childhood are Rendang Padang and Sate Padang. Rendang Padang are cooked all night long to make it soft mixed with special ingredients mostly spicy. Sate Padang is barbeque served above banana leafs served with yellow fluid soup. To taste the real Sate and Rendang Padang I spend a holiday to Padang, West Sumatra, the original of the food like image below.

In Jakarta I lived near Padang food restaurant, just 100 meters away. Every morning the wind blow West ward and I scent the food aroma, cooked or barbeque. They served it fresh every morning, no overnight foods sold, so be fresh food every day. 
One thing to remember is that don't need to order, just take a seat, the waiters will carry several plates over one hand and put it in the table, covered space of the table. Please choose the foods tempting you. Once you touch the foods mean you buy and pay for it. If you are not touch, the foods are still clean and put back as the inventory to be served to another customers. 

In case you visit Indonesia, Singapore, Bali or wherever across Indonesia don't miss to taste it, may some day you come back again.

NIAS ISLAND, A SURFING PARADISE IN WEST COAST OF NORTH SUMATRA. HOW TO GET THERE

                                 

 

                    

Professional surfers had been known that Nias island is a paradise for surfing in Indonesia beside many other locations in Indonesia archipelago. Some surfers didn't know yet precise location and how to get there.
Surfers from the South, Australia, New Zealand fly to Kuala Namu, Medan airport in North Sumatra through Bali - Jakarta - Kuala Namu. Or you may direct fly to Singapore and take another flight to Kuala Namu airport of Medan.

From Kuala Namu fly local plane to Nias island. Please ask your travel agent the fligt schedule to Nias island. If you want to know about North Sumatra before forward to Nias island, you may fly from Medan to Sibolga airport in the West coast of North Sumatra and then take a small ship to the West to Nias island. Or may take Bus from Medan to Sibolga city, spend 8 hours drive via beautiful Lake Toba.

APA KHABAR DIKAU, GAMELAN SOUND, BOROBUDUR TEMPLE AND BATIK

In one early afternoon I took a nap while TV was on mode. In between awoke and slept I hear Gamelan sound, Java, Bali traditional instruments. As I remembered as usual I turn on CNN News while lying in bed but why the hell Gamelan came out from the TV. To make sure I looked up to the TV. Yes, I wasn't wrong, I turn on CNN News and in the middle of news heard Gamelan sound along with a women paint a Batik sheet for shirt or gown.Then the  voice said: "APA KABAR DIKAU" mean HOW ARE YOU.

This is a new approach in marketing strategy to attract special attention of the foreign tourist to come to see and watching

In the middle of watching movie in favourit International TV channels, Star world and DIVA TV Indonesia advertise show up. In DIVA TV offered excellent Batam golf field just 45 minutes away from Singapore by boat and also few special spots in Jakarta city capital like Outing places and special Indonesia woman dress.

I am disagree to market beautiful Natural panorama such as white sand beach, high wave for surfing, under sea as show in Star World TV channel. The reason is that such panorama offered by most countries in the World that more attractive then ours.

One thing I admired the new Government, a new Tourism Minister begin to introduce National language :"APA KHABAR DIKAU", mean How are you.

I am the one who love travel abroad witnessed that our culture, tradition, music instrument differ from other countries, became our products to marketing it included to spend a lots of budget in ad in International TV channels. The result may not instant but take time, I am so sure the target of 20 millions foreign tourist will visit Indonesia 2 - 3 years to come.

EID AL FITRI, FLOODING BACK TO THE VILLAGES ININDONESIA

After one whole month fasting ended with Eid Al fitri, a big celebration in Indonesia, the good time to gather and celebrate with the families far away in the villages. Most of the Moslem took time back to their home towns, villages, leaving the cities. Year 2016, Eid Al fitri will be at Juli 6, 2016 but most people start to leave the cities on weekend, Friday, July 1, 2016 take advantage of 2 weeks holiday.

People flooding toward Java island coming from all over the country, archipelago country since Java is most populate in the country. The second flooding going to Sumatra island, especially in the Southern part where a big population were Javanese who joined transmigration program long time ago.

Jakarta city and other big cities will enjoy the light traffic, more relax when the workers enjoy their Eid Al Fitri with loving families in the villages.

On the road, on board ship, in the airport crowded even the ticket rate higher in this season compare to the regular rate. But it doesn't matter, once a year gather with the love ones.

Government never tire of remind not to ride a motor bike on the long distance that possibility of high risk but people ignore. Take a look to this photo, carry baby and things over loaded.

If you come to Indonesia in this season, you are welcome but we suggest to visit big cities, not to rural areas especially in Java island. But out of Java island the situation will be right to come in this season.
